Weisz Steiner (ワイズ・シュタイナー Waizu Shutainā) is an elderly professor from the Planet Norma. He is an older version of Weisz from Edens Zero's crew and serves as Rebecca Bluegarden and Happy's benefactor.
Appearance[]
Weisz Steiner is an elderly man with gray hair pulled back, black eyes, and a scruffed goatee. He also possesses a right mechanical arm, making him an O-Tech, after losing his original arm to Drakken Joe in the past.
Personality[]
In his younger years, Professor Weisz only cared for himself and acted as if he didn't truly care about the others around him and would steal items he deemed worth of value. As he aged, the professor had begun to see the error of his ways as he even explained to Rebecca and Happy to never steal as stealing was wrong. As he got older, Professor Weisz's caring nature began to show more as he was willing to help Rebecca and Happy after Happy's accident and develop a care for the girl and cat. Despite his grown maturity, Weisz's habits from his youth are still shown in his older years such as his interest in women and his interests in gambling.
Professor Weisz is shown to be very knowledgeable over subjects including the effects of a Chronophage's attack and what effect they have and has major knowledge in building and repairing machines as he earned praise from Witch and his counterpart described him as a "genius" over how well built Happy was.
Synopsis[]
History[]
In his youth, Professor Weisz lived on the planet Norma and was a member of Sibir's gang and a thief. At some point, he created a mechanical arm for Sibir to use when battling. Weisz once had his beloved mother who was killed by Drakken Joe, which he was unaware of.
In the year X442, Sibir and Weisz got into a disagreement, ending their friendship, and before Sibir's gang plotted to take the town, Weisz defected from Sibir's gang and stole a case of money from him. Unbeknownst to him, the money actually belonged to DJ Zombie, a loan shark who served as the gang's fixer at the time.[1]
Weisz was eventually caught by DJ Zombie and his right arm was cut off as punishment for stealing the money. Weisz stopped acting out after that and decided to go to school where he earned his title of "Professor". Weisz did eventually repair his friendship with Sibir; but they ended up drifting apart.[2] At some point, he replaced his missing arm with a mechanical one.
At some point, Weisz became famously known as the "Robotics Genius" for proving "The Brai Theory". However, he did not publish his findings in any academic journals. As well as becoming a life-long bachelor.[3]
When visiting the planet Blue Garden, Professor Weisz witnessed an accident[4] and helped a young Rebecca save her friend's life by using his Ether Gear to reconfigure the mortally wounded Happy into a Machine.[5] One day, Professor Weisz was visited by Rebecca and Happy, who asks him to come live with them on Blue Garden. He gently refuses, as that planet's too crowded for him. They then asked to live with him on Norma, but he reminds them that the planet is dying and that it's too fragile for them.[6]
Norma arc[]
After Rebecca and her friends escape Norma, Weisz manages to contact them, revealing that they did not time travel but went to a world where its time had been stolen. He explains that Chronophage devoured 50 years of Norma's time, erasing the present Norma and replacing it with the version from the past. Luckily he left beforehand like most of the other inhabitants, exclaiming that he always dreamed of adventuring while sitting next to Bernadette in his arms. He is surprised to see that Rebecca has made a human friend and even more so when he sees the android he fixed a while back. When Pino asks if he is her master, he corrects her and informs her that her creator was the Great Demon King. He then notices his younger self who also escaped Chronophage-devoured Norma and expounds to the crew that he and the younger Weisz exist separately, preventing time paradoxes. What he does will not affect him and that there is no guarantee that he will live as long as he has. He tries to give his younger counterpart some advice, but his signal gets jammed.[7]
Miltz arc[]
Powers and Abilities[]
Machina Maker (マキナ・メイカー Makina Meikā): By using Ether Gear, Weisz can control and manipulate machines.
Genius Engineer: Weisz is an incredibly experienced engineer, being respectfully called "Professor" by many people.[8] His younger self acknowledged the vast gap between their abilities, praising him as a genius since he wasn't able to repair Happy, which Weisz was responsible for creating.[9]
