| “ | This volume gives us another really out-there story element, introducing the word "chronophage." It eats a planet and steals its time, so it seems like there's a time slip, but it doesn't create a time paradox, thus sealing away the most interesting part of all time travel stories to date. You might wonder why I would have done such a thing, but this story element is going to come into play later. I think.
And we add new members to the team, Weisz and Pino. Their roles are pretty clearly laid out, so it's fairly easy to get them to do what I want, and I made Weisz an interesting sort of character that hasn't shown up much in my previous works, the "one of the good guys, but still a scumbag" type. Pino is a character I originally thought up to put in Happy's position (the mascot). But as I got a little deeper into planning, it was getting complicated figuring out how to put Pino in the first chapter, so for that chapter, I had Happy stand in as the mascot. Anyway, up until now, we've mostly been focusing on world-building episodes, but the story should really get moving in the next volume. I hope you enjoy it. |
