Afterword[]
“ | I held my second autograph session the other day. What was different from the last time was that this event was for people in Japan, but I am thankful that many people tuned in from overseas also.
I did not notice this at all during the event, but when I finished, it seems that I had been signing autographs for nearly 6 hours, and various people appreciated this fact by saying, "Thank you for putting in so much time and effort." However, from the perspective of somebody usually spends over 6 hours per day drawing for work, I thought "I spent less time working than I usually do." Furthermore, I felt very much at ease because my drawings for autographs are more like rough drawings compared to the illustrations for my published works or games that I have to focus very hard on. Therefore, I am not as tired as many of you may think. I actually quite enjoyed it. To be honest, I am not that interested in making appearances in the media. In general, I have a shy personality and tend to be anxious around strangers. Despite that, I have made appearances at many events. Most of the time, I am convinced when they cleverly tell me "The fans will be happy if you make an appearance." For this reason, I would like to proactively participate in the events moving forward, if my appearance would make the fans happy. That is if my schedule allows it, of course. By the way, there were many specific requests during this autograph session, so it was very for me to fulfill these requests. In particular, the request for a "male character wearing a bunny girl {?} outfit" stood out. As a result, I was lost in thought for a few days, wondering whether this is a fan demand for things like this (lol). As I also mentioned in "Table 2 {This is the inside flap of the cover}," People have frequently asked me from a long while back, "Mashima-san, you like bunny girls, right?" Maybe bunny girls make frequent appearance in my manga (?). TO be precise, I usually respond with something boring along the lines of "I like them, but this particular outfit isn't my favorite," but it is a fact that I enjoy drawing characters in bunny girl outfits. I saw a real bunny girl around town for the first time in my life a long time ago. I think some store was using the bunny girl to attract customers, but I remember that this really moved me to the point where I drew a bunny girl as soon as I got home. Rebecca did amazing things in a bunny girl outfit in the story this time around, but since the story will take a serious turn, she can't keep wearing this outfit, can she? |
