As I also wrote in Table 2 {the inside flap of the cover}, Iam always troubled by illustrations in color. All though I have been adding color digitally now for almost 15 years now, I have yet to discover a coloring method that makes me feel that "This is it!" If you continue to do the same thing for 15 years, you would expect to have improved over that time. However, things don't quite go as I would like. Well, I probably have improved but, I have also developed a more discerning eye. For this reason, I do not feel satisfied at all. Of course I have a certain level of satisfaction as soon as I finish, but thoughts like "I should have been able to color this more skillfully. I should have been able to color this more beautifully. I should have been able to arrange the colors better" creep into my mind.

As you may expect, the only thing to do is practice, but in terms of producing illustrations in the digital age, how adeptly you can use tools becomes important. This is actually my weakness, as I only know how to use the minimum functions and school necessary. I imagine there are many tools that would help me be more efficient with my time or improve the quality of my illustrations, but I do not have mastery over them. I'm unable to remember everything. Therefore, I always use the same tools to color the same way. The worst is when I change painting tools. I need to re-learn the functions from scratch. This is tough.

Anyway, I will continue to do my best while repeating a process of trial and error.

Now I would like to share my journey with coloring.

Childhood - Junior High School: Colored pencils and watercolor paint

High School: Acrylic gouache (although I had no mastery over them at all)

19 years of age - Early Serial Publications: Copic Markers

(although I had no mastery over them at all) I don't remember when i switched, but I moved on to Photoshop (although I couldn't master it at all) Painter 6 {this tool was godly!} Returned to Photoshop {I learned how to use it a bit} SAI {godly! I still use it now. I think it suits me best} Clip Studio Paint {I think it is godly, but I have no mastery over it. I am practicing}

As detailed above, I mainly use tools called SAI and Clip Sudio Paint at the moment.
