Soul Blade (ソウルブレイド Sōru Bureido) is a type of Ether Gear that utilizes the creation of bladed weapons made of Ether.

Soul Blade allows the user create, shape, and utilize all manner of bladed weapons[1] from Ether during combat, notably swords[2], sword spears[3] and claw blades.[1] The user is capable of splitting their weapon into two, allowing them to dual wield them and change their style of combat, and increase their physical speed and range of attack.[4]

Its Ether can also be used for other purposes, such as catapulting others into the air.[5] The blade can be broken if used on indestructible surfaces,[6] and it requires time for the user to create a replacement.[7] However, the blade still retains its usual attack power.[5][8]
The size and shape of the Soul Blade varies between users. Valkyrie Yuna's sword resembles a broadsword with a loop hilt,[9] while Homura Kōgetsu's sword resembles a katana with an Ether ring serving as its tsuba.[10] During her youth and training, Homura used a smaller, less intricate version of her sword.[11]
Once created by the user, it is possible for the Ether weapon to be wielded by somebody else.[12]

- Homura's "Five Sword Fencing" (五形剣 Gokeiken?) techniques are a reference to Five Form Fist (五形拳 Gokeiken?), a real-life kung fu style that consists of five forms: Dragon, Snake, Tiger, Crane, and Leopard.
