Shiki Granbell (Future) (シキ・グランベル Shiki Guranberu?) is Shiki Granbell's future counterpart from different futures that Rebecca has unintentionally jumped to.[1]

Appearance[]

Being from alternate futures that branched from Rebecca's time, Future Shiki's appearance varies depending on the future she visited.

In the first future Rebecca jumped into, Future Shiki is identical to his present counterpart, having spiky black hair and slanted eyes, though they are notably sharper eyes, and lacks his cheek bandage. His outfit is the same as it was after leaving Sun Jewel, only without the X-Ray Goggles.[2]

In the timeline where Rebecca lost legs, Future Shiki is considerably older, gaining sharper features. He retains his present counterpart's spiky black hair but has removed the bandage on his cheek, exposing his scar. His outfit is slightly tattered, consisting of a red, high-collard jacket with six buttons; three on either side, sleeves that are rolled up to his forearms, two black laces attached to the neck of his jacket hanging behind his head and a dark shirt underneath. Additionally, he wears light-colored pants, wristband on his right wrist, a belt with a buckle that has a cross etched into it, a second dark belt hanging loosely from his left and dark boots.[1][3]

Personality[]

In the future taking place at a mech-ridden battlefield, Shiki is rather cold and aloof, as well as confused by Rebecca's behavior.[2]

In another future where Rebecca lost her legs and given prosthetics, Shiki cares for Rebecca, shedding a tear when he thinks that she has woken from her coma and comforting her as she panics about losing her legs. He believes and trust in her, that she can change her future so that his is never reached. Unlike his present self, Shiki has given up on his grudge against Noah, to the point of calling him Master.[1]

Rebecca and Shiki dodging a missile Anime

Shiki and Rebecca dodging a missile

In a future taking place at a mech-ridden battlefield, Shiki orders Rebecca to shoot, but he pushes her to dodge the missile when she does not react. He asks why she was just standing around and adds that the next one isn't going to wait. To his confusion, Rebecca asks him where they are and where Happy is. He coldly responds on what she is talking about and how that is a dead cat's name much to her shock.[2]

Future Shiki comforts Rebecca

Shiki comforts Rebecca

In a far future taking place years later, an older Shiki enters Rebecca's room and finds her awake, greeting her good morning and states how glad he is now that she is awake. He calls Noah to see her, but is surprised to hear that this Rebecca is not from their time. He asks if their Rebecca hasn't really woken up yet, shocking this Rebecca that her future self is in a coma and lost her legs.[1] He hugs Rebecca after she panics with tears, telling her that it's okay and that he is here for her. He and Noah try to inform her how they got to this point in their time, unaware that she is starting to get pulled back to her time, where he mentions that everyone on the Eden Zero are dead. Shiki asks Rebecca to make sure she never reaches this future.[3]

Powers and Abilities[]

Enhanced Reflexes: Shiki possesses fast reflexes, being capable of dodging an oncoming missile.[2]

Satan Gravity (サタングラビティ Satan Gurabiti): This Ether Gear allows Shiki to control and manipulate gravity itself, giving him "Demon King Ether". He is capable of changing the direction of the gravitational force around himself, allowing him to fall in the direction he wants, float in the air. He can also manipulate the gravity of objects he touches, demonstrating such skill by changing the direction of oncoming missiles, making some hit each other or fire back at the sender, and lifting a mech and crushing itself and another by exerting more gravity to it.[8]
