—Rebecca Bluegarden, Chapter 1 |
Rebecca Bluegarden (レベッカ・ブルーガーデン Rebekka Burūgāden) is an adventurer and a B-Cuber from the planet Blue Garden. She is a member of the Guild Shooting Starlight and a part of the crew of the warship Edens Zero. Her goal is to gain one million subscribers for her Aoneko Channel.[2]
In her first experience aboard the Belial Gore she was referred to as No. 29 (29号 Nijūkyū-gō), indicating that she has rewound time multiple times, as the next time she is referred to as No. 30 (30号 Sanjū-gō).
Appearance[]
Rebecca has blue eyes, fair skin, and wavy ash-blonde hair that reaches to her waist, fashioned with a red clip on the left side of her head. A pair of triangle-shaped earrings hang from her ears along with a necklace displaying an image of a heart circling her neck. Her arms are covered by a pair of black and gold sleeves that only leave her shoulder and hands visible; an intricate figure completes the article at the top. She wears a blue-collared, white jacket and is styled with a heart-shaped zipper hanging in between her chest; hugged by a simple white, sleeveless shirt underneath. She completes her outfit with a short, black, and gold skirt with a slit on the side and long, black and gold boots.[3] By the year X495, her hair has grown longer.[4]
Rebecca has a set of pyjamas which consists of a white tank top that stops just above her navel, and a pair of ulta-short navy blue shorts with white edges and a white knot at the center-front of the waist.[5] She also appears to have a burgundy and gold variant of said shorts.[6] She has also worn at least two different jumpsuits while piloting a spacecraft. One is a skintight lavender jumpsuit with white and dark blue highlights, detached sleeves, gold trimmings, and a heart-shaped hole at the center of the chest which reveals her cleavage. Another jumpsuit is a full-body magenta and black skintight outfit with white parts.
Rebecca later changes into a new outfit which consists of a shoulder-less, gold-trimmed black dress identical to Shiki's second outfit. It has a dark choker, a heart-shaped zipper on the center of her chest with golden lines on the sides of the chest, a pair of round buttons on the sides, and black boots. She also has a pair of hair clips resembling small horns.[7] However, her clothes were dissolved while imprisoned in Illega Tower on planet Guilst.[8]
After leaving Guilst, she changes into a black-and-lime spaghetti strap skintight crop top with a white-and-black mini skirt and a pair of thigh-high boots which have black soles and collars, the latter of which have lime highlights matching her top. The top is cut low, and its hem has its lowest-reaching point reach above Rebecca's visible navel, from which the hem climbs further upward as the top shrinks at the sides until it thins to two triangular pieces clasped together below her shoulder blades with a silver loop, each piece connected to a strap. This top covers little overall, baring Rebecca's midriff, upper cleavage and breasts, and most of her back.[9] While in Digitalis, Rebecca designed her avatar to have cat ears on the top of her head and a tail that matches her hair. Her attire is a sleeveless midriff-baring navy tank top with three small holes and one large hole showing her cleavage arranged in a paw print pattern on the chest, a collar with a buckle, a reddish-pink miniskirt, a pair of blue leggings, and shoes.[10] Later on, Jamilov uses his cheats to change her into a light blue two-piece swimsuit.[11]
Before heading to planet Mildian, Rebecca dresses into a sleeveless, light-trimmed, and dark-colored maid's outfit with a short, white apron and a cat-ear headband.[12]
While on planet Sun Jewel, Rebecca changes into a fancy, red sleeveless dress with a pair of long, white sleeves that reach to her forearms, and wears a rose-shaped clip matching her dress on the right side of her head.[13] She later changes back into her post-Guilst outfit.[14] During the rebellion on Sun Jewel, she later changes into a sleeveless and backless, skin-tight jumpsuit with a pair of fingerless gloves.[15]
For most of the Belial Gore arc, Rebecca wears a small sleveless low-cut short black top with gold zigzag patterns on the edges under a small, sleeveless short white top with blue outlines, a blue collar, and two blue strings tied together just below her bust, revealing her bare stomach and ample cleavage. The black top has two appendages that extend below her bust to form an inverted V-shape with her navel in between. She uses two red clips to tie her hair into pigtails that fall behind her shoulders. With this, Rebecca also wears a black miniskirt split at the sides that has black crisscross patterns holding the front and back parts together, and blue high-heeled sandals which have an ornate pattern on the heel breast and front strap.[16]
After her jumpsuit is damaged, Drakken Joe gives her a sleeveless white V-neck shirt with a golden collar and black straps along its front and back with small, circular metallic pieces running though the middle, completed with black thigh-high socks with a single red strike near the top and white sandals.[17]
On Foresta, Rebecca wore her initial outfit with plain blue high-heeled sandals, but had to create a makeshift tube top with leaves after the original top is destroyed.[18] She later wears a full-sleeved button-up pink shirt with red edges, cuffs, and buttons along with ornate red sandals with tan soles and a white pattern around the ankles. She only buttons up the topmost button, which leaves part of her stomach visible.[19]
On Sandra, Rebecca wore a blue Arabian-style outfit consisting of a blue midriff-baring spaghetti-strap top with gold tassels, gold bracelets on her upper arms, gold and blue long armbands, an ankle-length two-part skirt split at the sides with gold tassels at the waist, and dark yellow sandals. At first, she wears an off-white poncho over this outfit.[20]
Before arriving on Nero 66, Rebecca wears a light-trimmed, black skintight jumpsuit with light-colored gloves and knee-length boots.[21] When under the hypnosis of Nasseh's Ether Gear and taken by Lyra, she wakes up in a sleeveless, red-colored bunny suit.[22] After leaving with Shiki to the All-Link System, she then changes into a long-sleeved black coat over a white dress shirt with a tie, light-colored miniskirt, knee-length black leggings and matching shoes.[23] While escaping on the Edens Zero, she changes into a light-colored, sleeveless dress.
Whenever her Ether Gear activates, Rebecca's leg glows with a winged symbol imprinted on her skin and any shoes she is wearing are destroyed, leaving her barefoot.[24]
Personality[]
Rebecca is a friendly and bubbly individual. Despite having her initial misgivings about Shiki, she decides to take him with her when she was fleeing Granbell, telling him that they were friends despite having known each other for only a short time.[25] However, Rebecca has shown a bit of an impulsive side as she cut Shiki's long hair without his permission as its unruly nature was bothering her.[26] She is also ambitious as she has a desire to reach 1,000,000 subscribers for her Aoneko Channel.[2] Rebecca thinks of herself as a famous B-Cuber, to the point where she wears glasses to disguise herself in public.[27] She is also willing to use her own sex appeal in order to get views, even considering using footage of her struggling in restraints to get people's attention.[28]
When she is in battle after wielding the Happy Blasters or any firearm, Rebecca's personality changes, developing a very crass attitude and yelling at her enemies to "die", and grinning with a very vicious smile.[29]
Above all, though, Rebecca is a very kind and selfless person. She is willing to cry for Shiki over the Granbell robots' apparent betrayal,[30] not caring about Happy being turned into a cyborg,[31] and standing up to Rogue Out when they threatened to hurt the captured B-Cubers.[32]
Synopsis[]
History[]
She was abandoned at a very young age on Blue Garden, Rebecca had no one to call family. One day she found a cat in an alley, who had no one else as well.[33] She befriended him, and asked if he had a name, which he did not, Rebecca decided to give him the name Happy for making her happy to finally have a friend.[34] The two lived together, where one night she asked why he was alone, which he assumes that he was abandoned and asked about her, which she believed she was as well, but she noted that she was not lonely, as she had found him. The two then promised to be together forever.[35] However, one day Happy got hit by a drunk driver in an accident, she cried and begged for Happy to be brought back.[36] After Happy was brought back with a mechanical body, Rebecca tearfully hugs him, not afraid of his robotic appearance and states that they will be together forever as they are friends.[37]
At some point, Rebecca and Labilia used to be friends before they had a falling out.
Intro arc[]
Rebecca and Happy travel to the Granbell Kingdom in their spaceship, the Aqua Wing, in search of good footage for Rebecca's B-Cube Channel. While there, they take part in many of the park's amenities, including a monster hunt. While on that monster hunt, they are confronted by a large, robotic cat which is quickly destroyed by a strange man with long hair. Rebecca is shocked by the man's appearance and hits him when he begins to grope her and asks her if she is human. He then informs her that he is the only human present and asks her to be his friend - an offer she refuses and she along with Happy head back to the town. Although, the strange man follows her.[38]
When she makes it back into the town, she informs the robots there of the man's presence and she is informed that the man in question is really Shiki Granbell, the sole human of Granbell Kingdom. After the two are formally introduced, Rebecca, along with Shiki, Happy, and the robots of the kingdom throw a celebration. When Shiki falls asleep, Rebecca is told about Shiki's background and after cutting his hair, she retires to bed herself. While she is sleeping, she and Happy are abducted by Castellan and the rest of the robots of Granbell who are seemingly trying to steal her ship. However, they are rescued by Shiki who tries to sacrifice himself for their sake, but Rebecca tells him that they are friends and the three flee Granbell together.[39]
After escaping Granbell with Shiki, Rebecca and Happy introduce him to their B-Cube channel, the Aoneko Channel, and explain what B-Cube is.[40] Rebecca also tells Shiki she plans to register him as an adventurer in her guild, Shooting Starlight, before asking him to serve as her bodyguard for a while, who accepts.
After arriving on Blue Garden and calming Shiki down, Happy is suddenly kidnapped by a group of thieves.[41] As Shiki follows the kidnappers, Rebecca remembers how she and Happy first met before following them. After catching up, she demands that the thieves give Happy back, vowing to never forgive them if they hurt him. As Shiki battles the thieves, Rebecca and Happy reunite, revealing Happy's true, cybernetic form as he turns into a pair of ether guns before shooting all the enemies and taking them down with Shiki's help. Afterwards, the two explain how Happy is a cyborg and how there are a lot of robots like him out there as they finally arrive at Shooting Starlight.[42]
In the Guild, Rebecca meets up with the guild's receptionist, Clarisse Layer, who started cried after hearing what happened to them on Planet Granbell. Rebecca then introduces her to Shiki and asks her to register him as a member despite lack of identification papers.[43] After pulling him away from touching another person's face, Rebecca noticed Shiki was staring at the hologram of Mother.

As the Punishers arrive, Rebecca, Happy, and Pino decide to help Valkyrie's Army fight them. He turns into his Happy Blasters form, allowing Rebecca to shoot down and destroy a group of Punishers. Suddenly, Baku of the Zaiten Three arrives and attacks everyone, nearly hitting her as well but is saved by an armored man who calls himself Arsenal. She realizes that he's Weisz, but he tells her that he's Arsenal.[44]
Embarrassed at the naked sight, she tells Weisz to wear something. She calls him insane for thinking she would let him borrow her skirt, as he begs she tells him that everyone will see her underwear. However, she remembers that Paul has not returned her underwear and falls to her knees, promising to kill him. She and Weisz are told that the warehouse has spare clothes and weapons, and is asked to bring back ammunition. On their way there, Weisz asks where Shiki and Homura are, to which she stays silent.[45] In the warehouse, she tells Weisz what happened, while changing clothes. She reminds him to focus on their situation and says how she likes her new suit. After being told that Happy's out of Ether, she tells him to rest and that she'll use one of the guns there. Weisz tells her that he can't open the door, much to her confusion. She points her gun when someone enters saying they locked all the doors, being that they control the weapons, and asks her to behave. She's surprised to see Nino, asking what he's doing there. When she learns that he's doing his job of stopping the rebels, she exclaims that she thought he was a good guy. After being reminded that he works for Madame Kurenai, she points out that he's hurting innocent people. She expresses her doubt in his claim of everyone in the Labor District being criminals, telling him how Shiki and Homura got sent here. However, she is told that that is how it is on the planet and that no one can defy Kurenai. She rejects Nino's offer to be let go if she stays in the warehouse, as if she does not bring the weapons to the men outside, then they will be slaughtered. She tells him to not move as he comes closer she watches as he makes arms made of Ether and she tells him that she doesn't want to fight him.[46]
Belial Gore arc[]
World No. 29[]
During the week after Shiki's death, Rebecca is given room, told that her friends are safe, but is kept locked up.[47] She is told by Drakken that he wants her power, but she wonders why she wants her speed, but he clarifies that he's after her Cat Leaper, a power that can change the laws of the cosmos, but she isn't told what it is. Rebecca asks why doesn't he just extract it already, which he explains is because she hasn't awakened it yet, doing no good if they extract her power now, but bad if it does awaken. His is she is kept under surveillance, where they will extract it when they pick up its Ether reading.[48] On the seventh day, Rebecca sits on her bed, still grief-stricken from Shiki's death. She hears footsteps approaching and cowers when the door opens. Though she stops cowering when only Laguna arrives, she thinks to herself on how she lacks all emotions now, except for fear so great that it overshadowed any hatred she had. Laguna tries to get her to eat and out of her depressed state, noting what Drakken did was awful but is just how it is goes. Rebecca doesn't give any response, before Laguna leaves, he tells her to take a show, reassuring her that there's no surveillance camera in the bathroom as they're not that crude. She decides to take a shower, thinking to herself how Laguna seems to be the most decent person in Drakken's team. She recalls her conversation with Drakken about him wanting her power and remembers that he called her No. 29. Thinking she needs to process all the information so she could find a clue to fight back. She leans to the wall, missing all of her friends and especially Shiki, wanting to see him again. While kneeling on the floor, the Ether lines on her legs begin to glow brighter, awakening her Cat Leaper. Rebecca notes how weird she feels and sees the water stopped. She gets pulled down, thinking that the feeling is gravity, and finds herself in a space where she gains cat ears and tails before falling deeper into it.[49]
World No. 30[]
Rebecca wakes up in Sister's infirmary and realizes that she's back to the moment she woke up after fainting in the bath.[50]
Rebecca and the others run through the halls searching for Labilia, but are soon encountered by Drakken's goons. She and Weisz knock out the remaining members after Shiki takes most of them out. Afterward, she stops Pino from trying to analyze the build as asking one of the goons on the location of the jail cells would be easier.[51] They later find Labilia in her cell, perfectly fine, making her glad. However Weisz remarks the difference from her story, making her wonder why this changed as well. Her attention changes to the call of an old Sibir.[52]
Edens One arc[]
Red Cave arc[]
After escaping the giant fish in the Poseidon Nero Sector, she marvels with the others at the sight of the Aoi Cosmos outside their windows. She reflects privately about how they encountered Connor in World No. 29 amid a school of fish. After Jinn ignores Shiki's question, confusing him as he thought he made friends with him, she kindly corrects him that he did not.[53] They soon arrive at the Fire Planet Red Cave, but are confused by the sight of an ocean.[54]
When Shiki returns and shows what happened to his Aquatic Adaptation Lacrima, Rebecca is amazed at how beautiful it is. She listens as Nadia explains that the Mother Ether found a vessel and went inside of it on its own. That the treasure kept here was a part of Mother, saying that it is possible to find Mother as many other pieces like this can be found anywhere across the cosmos, called Relics. These work like a compass to find others, if they find enough and absorb their Ether it might lead them to Mother. She complains that it sounds like trying to catch a cloud. She listens to Nadia again, who states that only by absorbing Mother Ether from other places will it change its properties. With this knowledge and something to lead them to Mother, she sadly remembers that Andrew is likely dad, frowning as Nadia continues to grin unaware. Before they leave, she listens as Witch tells Nadia the truth of what happened to Andrew. She tries to get her to stop, but Witch asks her if she thinks hiding the truth is the only way to show kindness, making her silent. She watches with everyone the memory chip from the ship and learns what happened. She and the others follow after Nadia as runs off and breaks her cable to find Andrew.[55]
They find Nadia by the ship, where Rebecca remains silent as Witch tells Nadia that it is alright for a machine to love a human and that the android has a heart. When Weisz reminds everyone about the cable, she thinks thinks Nadia is fine without it, recalling that Andrew brought the relic back in the memory chip. She watches as the relic, a candelabra, breaks out of the ship and shines a flash of light, restoring the robots of the planet. It continues to return to the planet to its rightful state, where the water levels start receding, showing that the night is ending as she watches the sunrise with everyone. She sheds a tear about love, becoming flustered when Shiki looks at her, noting that she did not mean it like that. Later while onboard the ship, they watch as the bots and the octopus monster wave goodbye, she sadly answers Homura's question, where she wishes a Chronophage could come and eat this planet's time, about 200 years of it.[56]

Powers and Abilities[]
Cat Leaper (キャットリーパー Kyatto Rīpā): Described as the "power of possibility" by Xiaomei,[57] and the forbidden power to change the laws of the cosmos by Drakken Joe,[58] Leaper is a form of Ether Gear that concentrates Rebecca's Ether flow into her legs.[59] When Rebecca first channeled her Ether she accidentally released it as a powerful beam of energy from her fist.[60] Leaper drastically improves Rebecca's jumping ability, giving her great speed and agility.[61][62] This speed even allows her to create afterimages to confuse or mislead her opponents, and appear close to them before they could react.[63] Within a starfighter, she can even enhance the ship's speed.[64] However, after awakening its true power as Cat Leaper, it allows Rebecca to perform a "time leap", which rewinds time and allows her to change the outcome of past events.[65] While she has unconsciously used it several times in the past, she only recently became aware of its true power after being captured and confined by Drakken Joe. Until then, when she used it in the past, she had no recollection of the previous timelines.[66] After entering Universe 0, Rebecca has lost her ability to turn back time.[67] However, unlike Rachel, she still retains her time Ether that makes her immune to any time distortions and attract chronophages that identifies her as the new "Priestess of Time".[68]
- Reverse (リバース Ribāsu): Rebecca turns back time by a few minutes, retaining the memories of the events that had just transpired. Using this knowledge she is able to change the course of events to her favor.[69] When going back once, a point is created that prevents her from going farther than it, acting like an anchor. Doing this consumes a lot of her energy, damaging her body and creating temporary cracks, making it dangerous to overuse in quick succession.[70]
- Bellholy Slash (ベルホーリースラッシュ Beruhōrī Surasshu): Rebecca uses her Ether-charged leg to kick her opponent, sending them flying backwards.[71]
- Aoneko Kick (アオネコキック Aoneko Kikku): Rebecca gains cat-like ears made of Ether on top of her head and then kicks the opponent with enough physical force to send them flying.[72]
- Bellholy Needle (ベルホリーニードル Beruhorī Nīdoru): Rebecca flips over her opponent and uses her Ether-charged leg to kick them over their head, sending them into the ground.[73]
Overdrive (オーバードライブ Ōbādoraibu): Three years after the end of the Aoi War, Rebecca has gained the ability to use Overdrive that gives her an appearance similar to that of a cat. Her outfit changes into a blue leotard with a dark trim, detached sleeves, a back plunge, a large diamond-shaped opening that exposes the rest of her lower back and upper buttocks, and an arrow-shaped opening for part of her stomach. When wearing this outfit, the entirety of both legs and feet completely bare. Her hair becomes white with a tint of a light blue color, gains a pair of cat ears on her head, and a cat tail with a ring that sports Ether lines that are shaped like a heart above. She also has light blue Ether markings across her legs and upper arms, and a pair resembling cat whiskers across her face.[74] In this form, Rebecca's physical abilities on her legs and feet are greatly augmented, comparable to a cat, as her heightened agility and reflexes makes her gain acrobatic skills and cat-like swift movements, and her equilibrium state enables her to balance on narrow objects and land safely from dangerous high places.[75][76][77]
Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Rebecca has displayed basic skills in hand-to-hand combat, especially kicking prowess used in conjunction with her Ether Gear.[71]
Immense Speed: Rebecca has shown to have great speed and agility, evading incoming attacks from enemies. Her speed is further increased with the use of Leaper, as shown in her fight against Nino, where he was surprised firsthand at her speed.[61][62]
Enhanced Reflexes: Rebecca has shown to have great reflexes, shown when she was able to dodge the mirror clone Homura's sword attack,[78] and can easily dodge multiple gunfire.[79]
Master Marksmanship: Rebecca is very skillful in marksmanship, displaying the ability to wield two Ether blasters at once. She is capable of making accurate headshots on multiple targets in rapid succession, something that is considered to be extremely difficult.[80] Her accuracy is great even on moving targets, easily shooting and destroying several drones chasing her and Shiki while on planet Nero 66.[81] In Universe 0, her accuracy has gotten sharper, as shown when she was capable to make multiple accurate shots to her targets with her hands tied behind her.[82]
Expert Piloting: Rebecca has displayed proficiency in piloting, being able to fly the Aqua Wing through the cosmos with ease.[83] Her prowess is further shown when flying the starfighter, Taurus FT-003, evading and destroying all of Sylph's drones with ease.[84]
Equipment[]
Aqua Wing (アクアウイング Akua Uingu): A spaceship formerly owned by Rebecca. It resembles a fish and can surf on water, levitate and travel in space.[85][83]
Cat Ears Headband: Rebecca wears her Cat Ears Headband when she records footage for her Aoneko Channel.[86]
B-Cube (B・キューブ B Kyūbu): She uses a B-Cube terminal with a heart-shaped symbol to record, upload, and share videos on her channel, Aoneko Channel.[87]
Happy Blasters (ハッピーブラスター Happī Burasutā): When Happy assumes the form of twin blasters, Rebecca is able to use these to fire bullets with Ether-coating at her opponent, leaving them incapacitated.[88] However, Rebecca loses this weapon in Universe 0, due to Happy never being turned into a robot.[67]
- Happy Blaster Assault Rifle Mode (ハッピーブラスターARモード Happī Burasutā Asaruto Raifuru Mōdo): Rebecca uses Happy in the form of an assault rifle to shoot her targets from a farther distance.[81]
Taurus FT-003 (タウロスFT003 Taurosu FT 003): As a crew member of the Edens Zero, Rebecca has access to the ship's starfighters. She used one of the Taurus starfighters in order to deliver medicine to the injured Weisz in the Belial Gore.[89][90]
Leo Starfighter (戦闘機レオン Sentōki Reon): Another of the Edens Zero's starfighters, Rebecca used one of these Leo starfighters to fight her way through Lendard. However, because she was thinking over the plan of attracting a Chronophage, she gets hit and Shiki saves her as the ship's system causes it to explode.[91]
Aquatic Adaptation Lacrima (水中適合の星水晶 Suichū Tekigō no Rakurima): During her stay on Red Cave, Rebecca wore one of these devices which allowed her to breathe and communicate underwater without any issues.[92]
