Edens Zero (エデンズゼロ, Edenzu Zero, romanized as EDENS ZERO in Japan) was officially announced on June 12th, 2020.[1] On September 26th, 2020, on Konami's TGS livestream, it was announced the anime will air in April 2021. Shinji Ishihira will be the chief director, while Yuushi Suzuki will direct at J.C.Staff. Mitsutaka Hirota will handle the series composition and Yurika Sako will design the characters. Takuma Terashima will voice Shiki Granbell, while Mikako Komatsu will voice Rebecca Bluegarden and Rie Kugimiya will voice Happy. On January 13, 2021, the first teaser trailer revealed the premier date as April 10 at 24:55 (effectively April 11, 12:55 a.m.).[2] Netflix acquired streaming rights to the series and will also debut sometime later in 2021.[3]

Shiki is a boy who's always dreamed of making new friends from outside the Granbell Kingdom, his amusement park home filled with robots. He gets his wish when two young adventurers—Rebecca and her talking blue cat, Happy—come looking for interesting things to record for their B-Cube channel. So begins the tale of Shiki Granbell, who learns the world beyond Granbell is far bigger than he could have possibly imagined.

As the newest member of Shooting Starlight, Rebecca and Happy's adventurers guild, Shiki proposes the gang's first adventure that will rocket them to the top: proving the existence of Mother, the Goddess of the Cosmos. In need of a more space-worthy ship, they decide to pay a visit to Rebecca and Happy's dear old friend Professor Weisz on the planet Norma...and somehow wind up traveling 50 years back in time! Can they make it back to the present without (completely) messing up the past? Or have events already been changed beyond what they're aware of?

After safely returning to their time with two new companions—a younger version of Professor Weisz, and an amnesiac android called Pino—and discovering the truth of their "time slip" from the present-day Professor himself, Shiki and co. are captured by the notorious space pirate Elsie Crimson and brought aboard her ship, the Skull Fairy. This ship is exactly what the gang needs for their voyage to find Mother, so Shiki challenges Elsie to a duel to claim it for himself. Will he succeed, or fall to the powerful rogue who claims she will surpass the Demon King?
