The Interstellar Union Army has some known rankings, which include; captains[4], and commanders, and below them are the rank and file soldiers of the army.[5] However, these ranks do not apply to the members of the Interstellar Union Army's special forces unit, the Oración Seis Interstellar[6] during their duties, and thus direct subordinates and superior officers are able to speak to and work with each other as equals during a Prayer Council (祈りの間 Inori no Ma?).[7]

The Interstellar Union Army soldiers wear full-body armored dark and light spacesuits with face-concealing visored or astronaut helmets and they wield assault rifles for combat.[5][8][9] Distinguished members with Ether Gear capabilities wear full-body armored spacesuits without helmets[10][11], formal military uniforms[12][13], and customized attires that stand them out from the rank and file in the Interstellar Union Army.[12][7][14]

The exact size and strength of the Interstellar Union Army is currently unknown, but it possesses a large fleet of ships led by Justice from his Commando Carrier, the Angel Feather[15][16]; a fleet of 250 ships led by Eraser from his Commando Carrier, the Hot Eyes[17][18][19]; a large fleet of ships led by Jaguar from his shuttle-themed Commando Carrier along with a number of small blimp-sized transports used for troop deployment and missile-capable starfighters[20][21][22]; a fleet of 30 ships led by Feather from her Commando Carrier, the Racer that are described to be the fastest and fleet destroyers[23][24][25]; a large fleet of ships led by Holy from her Commando Carrier, the Midnight that are described to have a lot of firepower such as the special anti-Dragon Ether cannons[26][27][28][29] along with Knight Gear mechanical suits[30]; and a large fleet of ships led by Cure from his Commando Carrier, the Brain Dust.[31][32]

History[]

IUA soldiers finding Hermit

Interstellar Union Army soldiers rescue Hermit

In the year X479, the Interstellar Union Army conducted a raid on the Müller Royal Laboratories on the Planet Newton. When the army breached the building, the commander ordered his soldiers to arrest all the lab techs within sight and to shoot anyone who resists. Gunfire is heard throughout the lab as the soldiers opened fire on every researcher who resisted arrest. The Interstellar Union Army managed to secure the lab and apprehend Müller, the perpetrator behind Planet Hook's destruction. They eventually found a basement and blew open the door. Inside the room, they found a heavily damaged android sat against the wall. The commander declares to the arrested mad scientist that the Interstellar Union Army has shut his lab down. The army notices the despondent android stand up and start to walk off. One of the soldiers tries to talk to her but the commander stops him and states that she's finally free and there's nothing that they can do for her other than to let her find her own place to die.[5] After that, the Interstellar Union Army brought Müller to a prison facility. However, the mad scientist escaped during the chaos of the explosion he caused, losing some body parts in the process.[33]

Skull Fairy arc[]

A fleet of the Interstellar Union Army led by Justice tracks down Elsie Crimson, where they later find her and her space pirate fleet, cornering them.[15][16] During the engagement between two fleets, one ship escapes from the scene, which was noticed by Justice, Creed and Victory.[34]

Guilst arc[]

After the Chronophage devoured 1,200 years of time from Guilst, Creed reports to Justice and Victory that less than 10% of the planet's population had escaped with their lives. On the other hand, Jaguar is worried that with the loss of Guilst, Drakken Joe of the Oración Seis Galáctica is now on the loose in space.[35]

Belial Gore arc[]

After the defeat of Drakken Joe and his criminal organization at the hands of Shiki Granbell and his crew, the Interstellar Union Army is called in by Amira, an agent of the Galactic Intelligence Agency, to take the Dark Alchemist into custody and launch an investigation on Belial Gore and its inhabitants, now that it is a free space colony.[36]

Oración Seis Interestelar Anime

Oracion Seis Interstellar holding a Prayer Council

Jaguar contacts Justice with an emergency holographic screen transmission that they are going to hold a Prayer Council, and orders both Victory and Creed to vacate the bridge of the Angel Feather. After the two soldiers leave, a confused Justice thought that the Prayer Council was scheduled for next week only for the captain to tell him that they cannot wait long and reminds him that they do not hold ranks during a Prayer Council. Cure, Holy, Feather, and Eraser attend the Prayer Council, also via holographic screen transmissions, completing the Oración Seis Interstellar that oppose the Oración Seis Galáctica. They discuss about Elsie Crimson, who was heading to Aoi Cosmos where her fellow Oración Seis Galáctica member, Poseidon Nero resides. Justice immediately volunteers to pursue her and take her down. After his fellow Interstellar member's show of conviction with his Ether Gear's brief activation, Jaguar concludes the end of a Prayer Council and states that they must pray to use their "sacred powers" for the peace of the cosmos.[37]

Foresta arc[]

Arriving in the Aoi Cosmos, Justice leads his fleet of the Interstellar Union Army to the Coral Sector, a neutral territory, and chases after Elsie and her Skull Fairy.[38] As his forces continued the pursuit, Victory and Creed informs the Interstellar member that the Skull Fairy has ejected a space pod and they have received a signal from the space pirates that claims they are releasing a prisoner.[39] Upon arriving on Foresta, Justice and his group senses Elsie's Ether reading. Victory and Creed warn Justice that Foresta is not only a neutral planet, but is also in Poseidon Nero's territory. However, Justice remains undeterred and declares that by his authority as one of the Oración Seis Interstellar, the Armored Space Pirate will be arrested.[40]

Later, Victory ambushes Beast Squad 1 from above and takes them down in one hit with Titan's Arm, saving Shiki and Homura Kōgetsu. Creed then imprisons the Beast members with Ether Lock and explains to Victory that they are ranked below Oceans. This led to Justice briefly wondering why Poseidon Nero did not deploy the Oceans despite the situation with hostile bots in Foresta. The Interstellar Union Army members notice Shiki and Homura, believing them to be civilian tourists at first before learning that the young man is the Demon King and he has ties with Elsie. Intending to kill him, Justice orders Creed to capture Homura and tells him and Victory to return to the Angel Feather before engaging an angered Shiki in battle.[41]

While Justice fights Shiki[42] and later Elsie[43][44], Victory and Creed are confronted by Princess Guards, Gowen and Hyoga who are under the Armored Space Pirate's orders to rescue Homura from custody. Seeing this as an opportunity to capture Elsie's #2 and #3, the two Interstellar Union Army soldiers engage them in battle.[45] However, when Foresta is affected by Xenolith's Magimech Attack: Gravity Center on a massive scale, Victory and Creed are surprised by the intense gravity that affects them while Homura's Ether Lock cube is accidentally dropped on the ground.[46]

After the intense gravity is gone, Creed releases Homura from his Ether Lock before she is unintentionally stepped on by a giant Victory. He retorts to Gowen that, unlike the space pirates, the Interstellar Union Army does not kill for no reason. However, after Gowen grumpily points out that they do lock up people for no reason, Victory states the fact Homura is with the space pirates gives them the right to lock her up, upsetting Hyoga.[47] When Homura escapes with her friends, Victory angrily declares that they will not get away while Creed remains silent with a blush as he watches her leave.[48]

On the other hand, the same intense gravity caused Justice and Elsie to miss each other's organs after unleashing their respective Grand Chariots and interrupt their fight.[49] After the Armored Space Pirate withdraws from the battlefield on her subordinate Behrman's transport, Justice tries to go after her despite his heavy wounds, but Holy contacts him and praises Elsie's strength. While Holy may not mind him continue chasing after Elsie, the commander reminds the soldier to keep Nero in mind for she believes that the Emperor will make some sort of move and take revenge on Ziggy for what he did to Foresta.[50]

Returning to the Angel Feather and the fleet in space, Creed briefly discusses the Crew of Edens with Victory which the two soldiers finding them weird, although the latter states that Shiki and his friends are barely a threat compared to Elsie and Nero of the Galáctica and Ziggy, and they don't have time bothering with them. Victory hopes that this does not turn into anything too catastrophic. Meanwhile, at the bridge of Angel Feather, a recuperating Justice converses with Holy who informs him that Nero has assembled his top officials, the Oceans 6 and his son Poseidon Shura on Nero 1: The Temple. The female Interstellar member chides the unconcerned soldier that Shura could be a threat and it is their chance to destroy him or else the Aoi Cosmos will suffer for it later, noting that Shura will take over the Nero Empire once his father Nero dies of old age. Remarking that there are far too many big fish for Justice to handle, Holy also tells her fellow Interstellar member that Jaguar and Eraser are on their way and advises him to let them help him. When Justice asks her if she is not going to do anything, Holy answers with an impish smile that she has other fish to fry.[51]

Nero 66 arc[]

Hot Eyes

The Interstellar Union Army fleet led by Eraser.

After arriving on the Aoi Cosmos, Eraser leads his Interstellar Union Army fleet to Nero 66 where they found their target, Shura, and proceed to enter the battle sequence. The black-haired Interstellar member declares to the Emperor's son that it is time to say goodbye to this cosmos.[52] Eraser is then contacted by Justice and Jaguar where the soldier reprimands him for going ahead of them and tells him to not do anything until they arrive. After Eraser points out that there is no chain of command in the Oración Seis Interstellar and they have the authority to make their own judgments, Justice reminds him that he is facing the Nero Empire, the biggest organization of the Oración Seis Galáctica. Eraser retorts that he is fighting Shura, not Nero, and notes that the Emperor is not the scariest member of the Galáctica that he knows. Jaguar asks Eraser about the number of the enemy's ships, which the latter states to the captain that there are 3,200 Imperial Army ships on the frontlines that is ten times the size of his fleet of 250 ships but has no idea if there are more behind them or waiting on the surface of Nero 66. However, he reassures his fellow two Interstellar members to not worry about it, boasting that he will have his enemies erased before they even arrive.[53]

Leading his fleet with the Hot Eyes, Eraser informs his forces that they are going to break through the Nero Empire's defense fleet and land on the surface, stating that their goal is to defeat Shura and destroy the All-Link System. The Interstellar Union Army ships opened fire and clash with the Imperial Army ships. Several ships are hit or shot down as the soldiers report that there are too many of them but Eraser tells them to not get scared and states that he will clear a path.[54] As the space battle continues, the army detects a large battleship approaching them and recognizes it as a Kraken-class cruiser, one of the Nero Empire's capital ships. 42 ships of Eraser's fleet have been wiped out by the Kraken's several high-energy laser beams in multiple directions, shocking the other members of the army and upsetting Eraser. Gritting his teeth, the black-haired Interstellar member apologizes to his fallen men and states that his Ether is finally charged. Activating it, he declares that it is his turn. Standing on top of the Hot Eyes in the vacuum of space, Eraser powers up and swipes his hand to erase the Kraken with his Ether Gear, proclaiming that they are gone. After that, he wipes out every single Imperial Army ship in his line of sight and declares that he will erase everything that stands in his way.[55]

The Interstellar Union Army continues battling Shura's forces as the Crew of Edens Zero and Oasis are on their way to Nero 66 and sneak around them.[56] As the remainder of Eraser's fleet pushes forward to Nero 66, the Interstellar member deactivates his Ether Gear and kneels down tired, remarking that dealing with this many enemy ships can be exhausting. His subordinate then informs Eraser via holographic screen transmission that an unidentified civilian ship has entered the battle and engaged the Imperial Army, which surprises him. After being provided a visual of the said ship, he is confused about its cat-themed appearance and questions it.[57]

After returning to the bridge of Hot Eyes, Eraser contacts Goodwin via holographic screen transmission where he tells the Oasis rebel leader that the Interstellar Union Army is aware of the All-Link System's capability of destroying the machines as well. The Interstellar member reassures Goodwin that he is not trying to get in the rebel army's way and they share a common goal of protecting the Aoi Cosmos, stating that it is the right thing to do. Eraser admits that he would rather not let a civilian organization like Oasis get involved in a battle of this scale but respects their convictions and Goodwin's passion. Smiling, Eraser offers Goodwin that they fight together, which the giant cat accepted and ended communications with him.[58]

When Justice arrives on time and takes out multiple Imperial Army ships with his white starfighter and his Star Drain via Ether Link, Eraser reassures Goodwin that he is an ally and advises the giant cat to not shoot the soldier although he doubts that normal gunfire could hit him. Reporting in for duty, Justice declares to his fellow Interstellar member that he is joining the mission to subdue Nero 66. On the other hand, Justice's Interstellar Union Army fleet led by the Angel Feather appears to back up Eraser's remaining forces, and the Oasis rebels much to their relief.[59]

During the ongoing battle in space, Justice is irritated that they are working with a civilian organization after noticing unknown signals among their forces and Eraser informs him about Oasis. Changing the subject, Eraser comments about the number of Nero Empire ships before them and asks when Jaguar is arriving only to learn from Justice that the captain had another matter to attend to. The exasperated Interstellar member asks if it's really more important than the fate of the Aoi Cosmos, which the soldier reassures what the captain is doing is to help the Aoi Cosmos. Blasting through the Imperial Army ships, Justice declares that they are going to put a stop to Nero's ambition. On the other hand, Creed is able to somehow enter Nero 66 and runs into Homura.[60] Creed reveals to Homura that he and his team of Interstellar Union Army soldiers are infiltrating the facility to stop Shura from using the All-Link System but they got separated in the labyrinth tunnels, and he can't use his communication device to contact them.[61]

The battle between the combined forces of Justice, Eraser, and Goodwin and the Imperial Army still rages on in space. Meanwhile, Jaguar and his fleet are at Nero 1 where they joined forces with Rickard, the CEO of Dead Cam and his army of androids and others that mustered their private armies as the Interstellar Union Army engaged the Imperial Army defense fleet protecting The Temple in space while deploying their troops on the ground to launch an invasion of the Nero Empire's capital planet where Nero takes refuge at the Deep Snow Imperial palace.[62]

In the middle of battle in space, several Interstellar Union Army ships are wiped out by the Sea Serpent's massive energy beam. Justice, Victory and Eraser charge towards the Nero Empire's most powerful weapon to stop it.[63][64] On the other hand, Jaguar's Interstellar Union Army troops continues battling the forces of the Nero Empire across The Temple.[65][66] One of its starfighters is caught by Ziggy's Satan Gravity and used as a shield from Nero's Empire Dice attack, killing the pilot inside.[22]

The ships of Justice, Eraser and Victory assaults the Sea Serpent with the aid of the remaining Oasis starfighters.[67] After the sacrifice of Dylan, Eraser takes out the Sea Serpent with his recharged Ether Gear while the Interstellar Union Army resumes fighting the Imperial Army until they receive a broad-range open transmission from Hermit of the Edens Zero who informs them that Nero and Shura has been defeated and that 20,000 Imperial Antimatter Bombs are going to detonate on Nero 66 within a few minutes. Eraser immediately orders all Interstellar Union Army forces to leave the front immediately and tells an irate Justice that he doubts Hermit is lying. After learning that only Jesse came back alive from infiltrating Nero 66, Victory tells Justice that they are leaving.[68]

When news of Nero's death and Nero 66's destruction spreads among the demoralized Imperial soldiers who quickly lay down their arms and surrender en masse, an Interstellar Union Army officer of the Jaguar Unit, Platoon 3 reports that the frontlines are in chaos and they can't assess the situation.[69]

In the aftermath of the Aoi War, the Oración Seis Interstellar holds a Prayer Council where they learn from Justice that Jaguar, Creed and thousands of Interstellar Union Army soldiers perished in battle. Cure reassures that despite the losses, Poseidon Nero and his empire are defeated and offers prayers to their deceased comrades. However, Feather speaks for the first time and points out that there are 4 remaining members of the Oración Seis Galáctica left, surprising Holy. Feather states that Elsie is not a significant threat to them at this rate and Eraser explains to Justice that Deadend Crow, Saintfire Nox and God Acnoella are a bigger problem than Elsie. Cure declares that their fight will not end until all of the Galáctica is defeated. Then the Interstellar pray and end the Prayer Council.[70]

After the fall of the Nero Empire, the Interstellar Union Army occupied The Temple where a new administration is being put in place.[71]

X495 arc[]

The Interstellar Union Army forces under Feather's command show up on Blue Garden and surrounded the Edens Zero and the Shooting Starlight guildhall. Two subordinates of Feather explain to their fellow soldiers that their target is Shiki Granbell of the Oración Seis Galáctica and advise them to not hurt the civilians before they tell her that all their units are in place. Opening her eyes, Feather warns her troops that the Crew of Edens will emerge from the building soon and orders that they will be shot on sight.[72]

Feather and her forces wait for their targets[73] until they emerge from the Shooting Starlight. The commander orders them to open fire and reassures that their bullets won't hit the civilians. After Shiki changed the ballistics' trajectories with his gravity, the soldiers are astonished that Feather is right about her prediction before they are enhanced by her Ether Connect, granting them to use her Eye of Venus temporarily. The female Interstellar member then orders her troops to seize the Crew of Edens but they are defeated with ease, shocking their comrades.[74] The Ether Connect-enhanced soldiers continue their attempts but are pushed back with Sam and Agie being swiftly cut down by Homura. Feather attempts to intervene but is halted by Shiki's gravity. Watching them leave, the commander declares that they will not escape her fleet.[75]

Racer

Feather's armada.

In space, a fleet of 30 ships under Feather has surrounded the airspace around Blue Garden, blockading it.[24] Intercepting the Edens Zero, the crew of Racer informs an officer of the Interstellar Union Army in charge that their target is approaching at a speed of 50 Ether Knots and they will be soon within firing range. The officer then orders the fleet to commence a warning fire at the Edens Zero but their attacks are blocked by the latter's shields. They are shocked when the Demon King's warship is flying towards them, believing that their target is going to ram them. Feather's armada deployed their own shields while some of the ships expertly dodged from the Edens Zero by spinning before they immediately begin pursuit of their target at full speed.[76] The soldiers are shocked to witness Edens Zero's speed as the reports never told them that they could reach those speeds, deeming it impossible. However, they believe that their ships are still faster. But Feather's fleet are unable to follow the Edens Zero into the debris field, and the panicking officer states that just grazing through one of the asteroids at full speed would cause serious damage to their ships. Only Feather is able to keep up with the pursuit as she pilots her starfighter through the asteroids but she failed to capture the Edens Zero that escaped via fast travel to the Kaede Cosmos.[77]

After that, Feather is contacted by Holy who tells her fellow Interstellar member to trade places with her, informs her that their targets are heading to Lendard, and declares that an "immaculate military operation" will be launched.[78]

Lendard arc[]

Securing an alliance with Shiki[79][80] and Elsie[81] to take down Ziggy and Deadend Crow, Holy places her two subordinates Ibuki and Shiro in charge of her fleet of Midnight ships while she gives them orders from the Edens Zero where she is their guest as a condition. En route to Lendard, she tells them to show their enemies the might of their forces and wait until it is time for the "immaculate military operation" to begin.[82][83]

After discovering that God Acnoella also allied herself with Ziggy[84], Holy orders her fleet to attack the swarms of Dragons with special anti-Dragon Ether cannons. The Interstellar Union Army forces successfully shot down several Dragons but there are too many of them to take out.[85]

Upon arrival on Lendard with their respective Commando Carrier fleets, the three Interstellar members acknowledge Victory's statement about Justice's orders that Elsie's space pirates and the Edens Zero, who have joined forces with Holy, are to be treated as allies for now and focus their forces to take down the Dragons unleashed by God Acnoella.[86]
