Judgment Day is the 48th episode of the Edens Zero anime, and the 23rd episode of the second season.
After collecting more Mother Ether from Mud Roll, the crew wonder what they should do next. Suddenly a special emergency report reveals that Prince Shura plans to wipe out all the robots in the cosmos!
Summary[]
Shiki breaks free from the Bondage
Everyone is shocked to see Ziggy here, who then corrupts the area around him and Shiki. He pulls Rebecca into his arms, telling him that he does not need to learn anything from Xenolith, as he has already taught him enough. He drops Rebecca, telling him that the path of gravity ultimately lead stop absolute nothingness. He starts applying gravity to the girl, showing him what happens to the human body for a prolong period. Not wanting to see his friend hurting anymore, Shiki breaks free from his restraints and tries to punch Ziggy, who stops it. Suddenly, Xenolith reveals himself, congratulating Shiki for using his Ether Gear despite being restrained and managing to escape. Shiki is surprised to see that everyone is fine. Xenolith shows him that since they are in a virtual reality simulator, then he can appear as anyone, showing off by changing his head to Ziggy, a Nikora, and Couchpo. Shiki realizes that Ziggy and Rebecca where just holograms, much to his annoyance.

Xenolith thinks to himself, impressed by Shiki that had overcome those restrains that quickly and thinking he could trust him with Magimech's ultimate secret technique; Black Sky. Afterward, training continues until everyone is tired. Xenolith tells them their real training starts tomorrow, which reminds Sister that they could also use this time find Foresta's Relic. Xenolith reveals though that he has a relic with him, a bottle cap, telling him that while the name sounds big and fancy, it just means that they are items that were on Mother. The Shining Stars wonder if humans live or lived on Mother. Rebecca goes to take a bath, but Xenolith tells her that her Ether powers are weak and that she will require more intensive training than the others. In the Spa of Eden, Rebecca reflects that she knows that she is weak and that she needs powers if she wants to go on adventures. She activates her Ether Gear and starts practicing. Witch arrives, wanting to help her as training in the water will amplify the effects of soaking in it. She tells her that she will train here in the bath everyday and with her help, she will become a Chrono Witch. Rebecca is amazed, but asks Witch to at least take off her mask in the bath, making Witch blush.
Xiaomei recaps the events that happened on Foresta, Ziggy's machine rebellion, meeting Xenolith, and training under the master inorder to defeat Ziggy. Meanwhile, Nero has given his son Shura charge over the Ziggy matter, setting out to defeat Ziggy as well. Xiaomei adds that Elsie too is going after the skullbot, with Justice after her. Xiaomei then checks on their training.
Shiki and Xenolith training
In the VR training facility, Xenolith lectures Weisz on aiming his gun, Homura on her pivot foot, Rebecca's slow progress, and fights hand to hand with Shiki. He tells Shiki that gravity is the weight of the heart, the stronger it is the stronger its gravity. He states that he will need inner tranquility to endure that weight, needing to strike a balance between his heart's streng and tranquility, otherwise he will fall to darkness. In the Spa of Eden, Rebecca is tied as part of her training, where Witch has a special guest to join today, being Sister Ivry.
Xiaomei interrupts, who notes how training sequences are boring and skips about seven days, telling everyone to enjoy the rest of their story before signing out.
Xenolith and Aruna bidding farewell to the Edens Zero
On Foresta, the Edens Zero crew says their goodbyes to Xenolith and Aruna, who he will look after. Witch asks Xenolith about when he met Ziggy, which he recalls was over hundred years ago. He adds the last time he saw him was 15 years ago, when he was on a quest to find Mother. Witch asks if they were with him then, but he tells her that Ziggy was alone. The Shining Stars wonder what happened that forced them to have their memories erased or if something else is the reason. Afterward, they leave Foresta and bid farewell to Xenolith and Aruna.
Ziggy's new form
In the Edens One, Ziggy notes how the robot uprising on Foresta was merely a test. He explains to the Dark Stars that he lost his memories and made an amusement park on Granbell. He went to search for Mother to retrieve his memories but instead found baby Shiki and decided to raise him. However, he declares that this was a mistake, his memories returned after he came back to life, including the reason he was drawn to Shiki and why he cannot let him live. Wizard asks if Shiki prevents him from creating a world ruled by mechanical lifeforms, but Ziggy declares him a threat to the entire universe and should not be allowed to exist. He transforms himself to have a more frightening appearance and declares that Nero's empire will be his.
The Edens Crew being drenched in Mud
Rebecca shows her video from the planet of mid, Mud Roll, to Couchpo who helps her edit her it a bit. She then asks if they found the Relic there, which Rebecca confirms, saying that it was a ruined building. They collect the Ether from it, but encounter the planet's mud related natural disasters, to which Couchpo states that this is what should have been in the video. After Rebecca left, Jinn and Laguna ask why Couchpo is staying on the ship. She explains that she is amazed by the ship's kitchen, saying that she could make 3 years' worth of videos on this kitchen alone. Jinn warns her that the ship is getting caught up in a war, but she scares the two when she asks if it more dangerous than taking unknown food from her. In the meeting room, the crew discusses about their Mother Ether collecting, but have not found any new sources. Witch suggests they leave the Aoi Cosmos, having a bad feeling about the many powerful Ethers in the cosmos with the likes of Ziggy, Nero, and the Interstellar Union Army. She asks what Shiki thinks they should do, which he remains silent.
Shura declares the Judgement Day
In Rebecca's room, Happy notices the writing behind Rebecca's B-Cube, asking when that was put there. She explains that it was sometime after Red Cave, saying that the crew is like a family to her and she wanted to carve the name of something she cares about. Sufdenly an emergency broadcast happens, reporting that six planets had robot uprisings similar to Foresta, which the Oceans 6 were dispatched to take care of them. The reporter then shows Prince Shura's proclamation of wiping out all robots in the Aoi Cosmos, shocking the crew.
