I'm Daichi of Earth, one of the Element 4. Want some chocolate?

—Daichi, Chapter 79

Daichi (ダイチ Daichi?) is an alien sadist with an addiction to torturing people, with which he struggles on a daily basis, and a member of Drakken Joe's special forces, the Element 4.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Daichi is a tall muscular, humanoid alien of an unknown species with dark-blue skin, choppy dark-brown hair, and yellow star-shaped eyes.[1]

He wears a light-colored, high-collared, sleeveless vest with the kanji letters for "Land Mass" on the back[2] and striped pants along with a belt that has a mountain symbol and shoes.[1]

Personality[edit | edit source]

Daichi has an addiction to torturing so strong it will cause him to disobey orders.[3] However he recognizes this as a problem and has joined a torture addicts support group, as is capable of winning a 60-day torture free coin. [4] When Laguna reminds him the consequences of disobeying Drakken Joe's orders, he was trembling in fear and stopped his impulses of torture.[5]

He offers chocolate to anyone he meets.[6]

Synopsis[edit | edit source]

History[edit | edit source]

At some point, he joined Drakken's Organization and became part of the Element 4, as the Dark Alchemist needed Ether masters of each element to help maintain the balance of his Ether.[7]

Belial Gore arc[edit | edit source]

World No. 29[edit | edit source]

Daichi is summoned along with the rest of the Element 4.[8] He is ordered to watch over Rebecca after she was captured and placed in the cell with Labilia.

As Rebecca is about to remove the chains from Labilia, Daichi emerges from the floor of the cell, stopping Rebecca.[9] He introduces himself to her and offers her some chocolate, calling her No.29. When Rebecca asked about it, he admits he doesn't know.[4] Daichi then pulls out a commemorative coin, showing it to Rebecca. He explains he won it at group therapy for torture addicts after going 60 days without torturing anyone, surprising Rebecca.[10] When Rebecca brings up Labilia, he claims that he just roughed her up and states that it is not real torture. Daichi then begins to sweat and loom over Labilia, claiming that it would not hurt to give in to his urges.[11] Rebecca draws her Happy Blasters on him, but he retaliates, using his Ether Gear to sprout branches from her arms and pin her to the wall. Daichi turns to her, saying that he can't hold it in anymore, and bends the 60 days coin, despite his orders not to harm Rebecca.[12]

World No. 30[edit | edit source]

Daichi whipped by Sister Ivry

When the Crew of Edens directly attacked Belial Gore, Daichi and his fellow Element 4 confront them.[13] Daichi and Laguna are shocked when Hermit interferes and dismantles Fie's sniper rifle. Finding her his type, Daichi tries to attack Hermit but ends up as Sister Ivry's opponent after being punched in the face mid-air by her.[14]

After the Four Shining Stars in their Battle Dresses are ready to fight them on a 4-vs-4 battle, Daichi in his fluster comments on their beauty.[15]

When facing Sister as his enemy, Daichi finds her beautiful. He claims that he cannot take it anymore after seeing her pretty face and wanted to torture Sister Ivry. He bent the 60 days coin and threw it away on the floor. Daichi then made a flamboyant dance about his torture ban being lifted.[16]

However, Sister Ivry rudely interrupts Daichi by kicking him in the groin upfront, finding his 60 days coin cute. Sister reveals she possessed a 10 years coin before she bends it too. She proudly proclaims that she's a 10 years torture-free ex-dominatrix and threw the bent coin on Daichi from behind much to his masochistic dismay and pleasure.[17]

Powers and Abilities[edit | edit source]

Pain's Tree (ペインズツリー Peinzu Tsurī): Using this Ether Gear, Daichi causes roots to seep throughout people's bodies, eroding them from within and causing excruciating pain.[18] He can also grow branches from people's arms that cling to surfaces, effectively pinning them down.[19]

Solid Matter Assimilation: Daichi has the ability to merge his entire body into solid surfaces.[9]

Enhanced Strength: Daichi possesses enough strength to bend a metal coin with some effort.[20]
